Holistic, Heart-Centered Counseling & Therapies

What Is It?

Virtually anyone can benefit from this longstanding method of energy healing, independent of age, gender, health level, heritage or world view. Clients who tend to experience the greatest results are those most open to believing and envisioning that healing and wholeness are possible through Reiki.

Common conditions for effective Reiki treatments include, but are not limited to: stress, anxiety, depression and other emotional conditions, fatigue syndromes, insomnia, digestive issues, chronic pain, surgery recovery, cancer, heart disease, terminal illness and grief.

According to industry regulations, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and second-degree Reiki practicioner, I can offer you either traditional and other alternative therapies or Reiki, but not both. Though Reiki is gaining greater and greater acceptance and visibility, most insurance companies don’t yet cover treatments.

A Reiki session can feel like a wonderful, radiant glow that flows through and around you. It safely and simply treats the whole person – mind, body and spirit – and usually results in feelings of peace, security and improved well-being. Read about the healing power of Reiki >

Reiki clients report feeling more refreshed and centered, and less anxious and stressed. If your body is manifesting symptoms of pain or overwhelm, you may breathe easier, find your heart rate slowing and notice your mind becoming more calm and clear. Other recipients experience the release of emotions and have had very spiritual sensations and visualizations.

The first Reiki session usually brings about one or more of these noticeable improvements, and the benefits can be cumulative in subsequent treatments. In emergency medical or intensive and hospice care situations, patients often feel the advantages of Reiki within minutes.

REIKI

What Are the Benefits?

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy psychology for stress reduction and deep relaxation that promotes wellness and speeds healing by easing pain and other physical and emotional symptoms. It is administered through light touch or with hands placed just off the body; there is no massage or manipulation, and the recipient lies clothed on a table.

Though Reiki is considered a natural, alternative therapy, it is increasingly being offered by foremost healthcare institutions worldwide, such as the Cleveland Clinic. These organizations recognize the transformative benefits of integrative and lifestyle medicine. Sessions usually last 60 to 90 minutes.

Reiki can be a spiritual experience that broadly appeals to clients of all belief systems, including those who question or don’t subscribe to the existence of a higher power. It isn’t intended to promote a religious agenda and is based on the concept of balancing and raising the universal life-force energy within the body.
